Grasshopper Insect
Being a typical representative of its kind, the grasshopper insect has no blood but instead uses a green substance in its body. Extra long legs and an empty stare, not to mention the characteristic sound grasshoppers make in the hot summer days. They are like a real orchestra. Here we see one such musician resting on a green leaf after a long tiring day, having played his instrument. The grasshopper insect scratches its legs to produce this specific sound which is a kind of mating call to attract females. When the female is nearby our artist tries to impress her with a serenade of love.
