Black Ants
Black ants are social insects living in highly organized colonies and their societies have a strict hierarchy of really hard workers and soldiers all governed by a single queen. Characteristically males and the fertile queen ant have wings during breeding season. Wingless sterile female ants are the workers of that community. These interesting species are also called cleaners the forest. The described insects eat the remains of dead bodies of animals and plants and turn them into nitrates that feed the forest. They are a very important link in the long food chain because many birds and other animals feed on them. The soldiers take care of colony security.
